Al Wahda Mall Art Competition

Al Wahda Mall launched its art project in collaboration with SAMIA SALEH ARTS as part of the developing art scene in the United Arab Emirates, an important initiative in the United Arab Emirates with the aim of strengthening the status of art in the nation, as part of the annual celebrations of the United Arab Emirates National Day.

Participation Eligibility:

All artists who are at least 18 years old and who reside in the United Arab Emirates are eligible to enter the competition. If your piece of art is chosen as one of the top 51, you will need to show a current Emirates ID to get your award.

Theme:

Paintings and drawings should artistically depict and emphasize the nation's accomplishments and heritage in a way that enriches the art world and increases the nation's interest in culture and the arts.

 

When to apply :

Submission Deadline November 27, 2022, at 11:59 p.m

Announcement of the short list on, November 28, 2022

Art exhibition and opening on December 2, 2022

Announcement of the results and recognition of the participants at a closing ceremony on December 10, 2022.

It should include your inspiration, the title of your artwork, etc. (50 words only)
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS: Exact size in centimetres, medium and details if using any recycled materials or objects.
Please note that the art pieces will be displayed in the gallery through easels, so the size of the artwork should be appropriate and not too small. Not more than 120 x 120 cm and not less than 70 x 70 cm

Selection process:

Before choosing the top 51 finalists, the selection committee will undertake an open assessment of all submissions and evaluate each one according to predefined technical criteria.

 

Jury:

The selection committee's panel of judges is made up of eminent technical professionals from several fields in the United Arab Emirates.

Awards:

 

As part of the 51st UAE National Day celebrations in December 2022, each winner will have the chance to exhibit their artwork in a special exhibition.

 

The top 3 winning artists will each earn a monetary award of up to AED 18,000, and the top 10 winners will all receive certificates recognizing their work as the competition's best.

 

First place: 10,000 AED

Second place: 5,000 AED

Third place: 3,000 AED
